Research Activities

The research of Prof. DeWeerth and his group focuses on the development of neural prosthetics and wearable robotic systems that augment the closed-loop control and optimization of human and animal movement, particularly rhythmic movements (e.g. locomotion). They create and implement real-time models of the neural sensorimotor systems that generate and modulate these movements, and fabricate interfacing technology for stimulating and recording from neural tissue and muscles.
